Can I just state the obvious and say that feeding people, even a little family of four, is a full time job. I kid you not. If you are truly creating meals for people and not cheating aka driving through somewhere, and let’s be honest, most of us do sometimes, because it’s overwhelming and exhausting and most of the time nobody likes it anyway. There, I said it..dinner WEARS ME OUT. I don’t care how much you love cooking, doing it every single day is a chore, not a pleasure.
I’m the only one that cooks in this house, which makes it even harder. I half joke all the time and say that if something should happen to me, someone please find my husband a new wife, quickly, because as much as I love this man, he’s the absolute worst at feeding the kids. I’m pretty sure they would have breakfast for dinner every single night if I wasn’t around. Just last year I took a picture of him cutting a bell pepper because it was epic. First time in 20 years I’ve seen the guy get a vegetable out of the refrigerator and cut it up. 😉
So seriously, if you have good, reasonably quick meal ideas, i’m ALL EARS. I tend to make the same dishes over and over again. You know it’s a problem when your kids walk in from school and begrudgingly ask…”are we having soup AGAIN tonight for dinner?” Or we could discuss Tuesday night’s “this tastes like hair” spaghetti squash flop. MEH. 😦
UGH. Help a mother out. Teach me your ways. Right now, the crock pot is my best friend and anything that I can whip up under 20 minutes is preferable. Scrambled eggs anyone?
